Dirty dishes pile up so high
More and more orders, in they fly
There is not a moment for you to rest
As they expect you at your best
You pray there will be no mistake
For if there is, the earth will quake
With the furry of the dissatisfied
Whose meal has not been well fried
Tension grips you at your core
As you wring your hands and smile some more
To try to soothe the angry mob
For that primarily is your job
To clean and serve and lower your eyes
And to get use to shrugging at their lies
There are those who look down their nose
And we who just want to work without such blows
We enjoy our work, yes we do
But we'd rather do without your attitude
We like to serve those who smile back at us
For they get treated with a gush
But for those who would rather sneer
You have a little more reason to fear
As to why your stomach churned after you went
Trust me, your karma has been well sent

Rock Bottom

Why does it bear down upon me?
Like is some terrible kind of dream
Where the waves are crashing all around me
As I'm drowning in the sea

My life leads me down a darker path
With every step I take
I'm blind to what's ahead of me
So I leave it all to fate

Alone I stand in this empty place
Secluded from the rest
While they are miles ahead of me
I'm strained to be my best

All sorts of things are at my aid
Books and talks and pills
But never had I felt so low
When it came to the shrinks bills

How on earth did it happen?
I scream inside my head
Why cant I just be normal?
And live a day less dread

Each day I become more a shadow
Each night I cry some more
Regardless of all, I'm still alive
This proves my will I'm sure.

Or raise you from the ground
Love can be so bold and loud
Or sneak up without a sound

Love can make you achieve anything
Or make you realise all your fears
Love can light fire in your soul
Or leave you lost in tears

Love can scar you and your pride
Or pump new blood to your heart
Love can also fuse us stuck
Or it could tear us all apart

Love is like a battleground
Or a flower opening it's bud
Love can lead to victory
Or love can wither in the mud

So what is this force with such extremes?
What gamble do we take?
When we fall in love with someone,
Will our heart beat or will it break?

The light at the end of the tunnel
My emergence from the dark
The feeling is euphoric
On a new journey I must embark

Gone are those painful feelings
And the worries in my mind
I can no longer hear my own doubts
Or feel the panic that sent me blind

I can't explain the terror
When you don't know what to do
When you loathe yourself so hard
You wish your life was through

Night and day my mind would swirl
With fear and doubt and despair
No logic could I make of this
There was no one with whom I could share

But it took just one person
Whose love was able to heal
The sickness in my hear and mind
And re-taught me how to feel

The future is still an abyss
And there will be moments darker than night
But with this one person by my side
I know I can stand and fight

Welcome to my Blog. This is a place for me to record all my scribbled poems that I have written on various pieces of paper in this past year. I do not pretend they are fantastic, but I enjoy writing them and felt the need to broadcast them in some way.
